We are pleased to confirm that a resolution to grant planning permission was made at the Windsor and Ascot Development Management Committee on 12th February 2026. We hope to be able to start on site Spring/Summer 2026.
What is being proposed?
Galliford Try have been appointed by the Department for Education to redevelop the existing school. During the summer of 2023, parts of the existing main school building at St Francis Catholic Primary School were found to contain Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC), which resulted in the closure of some parts of the school. The affected areas were closed, requiring some pupils to relocate into temporary accommodation.
Galliford Try’s Design Team are developing the detailed design for the new building and this consultation seeks your views to help shape the new school.
The current proposals include a part single storey and part two storey main school building. The proposed building will be located on the approximate footprint of the existing school building following its demolition.
The proposals will also include new play areas and landscaping, revised parking arrangements, a multi-use games area and the reinstatement of the school playing field once the temporary classrooms have been removed.
The redevelopment does not propose to increase the number of school places or staff.
